Should draw, should colorize, should write, should work...

I am such a busy woman (who am I fooling here ?)

The Japan Expo's coming too. Early July. I still got some pictuures to draw, titles to put on.
Promised a watercolour for my boyfriend, promised avatars for people. And a logo for a friend-not-very-much-a-friend.

This logo's weighing me on, I really need to get my hands on the Gimp, it must be the only vector drawing software I can use.

Somehow, with all this crap, I still keep procrastinating. Ain't that completely stupid ? I'm dumbfounded at myself.

Go me.

Oh yes, I soooooo love it.

I should be advancing my comic right now, doing all the roughs and storyboards and chara design and stuff...
But since my brains are just too fond of running in "Oh shit ! No time left!" mode, it seems I hafta make up my mind and begin procrastinating. Really, this comic is eating my brains but at the same time it looks like I'm not able to draw anything about it.... Like, feeling "OHMYGAWD I want to draw the Wolf !! and Red riding Hood !", but nothing comes out and it leaves me staring at the blank page, pencil raised...

Oh. My. God.

I really hope not being ill at my next conv'.

I kept drawing, drawing and drawing for two days with a few breaks interspersed here and there. Just a few minutes of free time allowed for swallowing headache pills, blowing my nose, running to the other end of the expo to catch a special eraser that I needed badly (Thank you sooo much Howan... You saved my life ! )

Anyways, that was... one hell of a hectic couple of days.

I still have three commissioned work to do for some people I met there.

Awww... Plus, I must draw my comic or Harue will make sure to detach my head from my body in a really painful way...
In spite of that, didja know she is the best boss ever ? If not for her, I wouldn't have taken any breaks and probably gone insane by the end of Japan Expo. She also helped a lot with the drawings and prevented me from self destructing.

All right, got to get to work... ^_^

I just finished swifting through my deviation alerts...

It just left me well... wondering if I would ever get good enough at drawing to be able to do something good enough that I won't see it and cringe.

Yeah right, I do realize there are many people out there who draw worse than me... But I'm far from an expert, far from excellent... far from good I'd say if it wouldn't get me whacked up the head by Harue...

Anyway, it just helped me make up my mind that next year, I'll make every effort in my power to improve my skills and try and get better at lineart.

Ah... *gets dream-eyed while watching lone-momo's art* sooo many gorgeous things out there...

As you must have noticed I have been recently pretty much adddicted to myths.

I think I must explain some little things about this myths addiction.
I am truly convinced that greek gods are one of the best things greeks ever invented (right after democracy and theatre). They are so much alike what humans are, I began to wonder how those gods would evolve in our times, in this era. If they would change, or stay like they are forever. If they would blend in the crowds to get a feeling of life on earth, if they would get tired of eternity or lock themselves up in Olympus...

The end result are those pics I keep posting here.
I draw those greek gods as I think they have become nowadays. Hermes would still be a mischievous and buoyant young man, fluttering between Olympus and Earth and travelling among us "just because".
Poseidon would have retreated in his ocean a long time ago, perhaps sick of humans polluting his seas, lakes and all... (and I fully agree with him). As for the beard he is supposed to have, i trully don't give a monkeys armpit about that. He could have shaved for all I care .
Hades would be a standoffish guy as usual. getting tired of Olympus I guess. I envision him becoming big buddies with Hermes and scaring the crap out of the other greek gods by disappearing from Hell just to get a kick out of life outside.
Persephone would have an affair with Ares, because she's lonely six months out of twelve and afraid of the dark brooding death god...
Dyonisius and Eros would be best friends ever and break havoc at every party thrown by the nymphs...

*sighs*

As I said for Poseido, gods and goddesses have evolved, and that's why, when I draw them, they often are completely different from what ancient descriptions depict them.
